Reyhan Nuray DUMAN

Reyhan Nuray Duman graduated first in her class from the Department of Psychology at Uludağ University. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she repeatedly earned high honours and honours certificates.

Following her undergraduate education, she completed the Applied Psychology Master’s Programme at Istanbul Ticaret University with her project study titled “The Effect of Personality Traits of Married Couples on Marital Adjustment.” She then completed the Clinical Psychology Master’s Programme and the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Programme at Istanbul Arel University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on “The Effect of Online Group Schema Therapy on Quality of Life, Emotion Regulation, Anxiety, Depression, and Schema Modes in Fibromyalgia Patients.”

Throughout her professional career, she has served as a psychologist in various institutions and associations, conducting psychological counselling with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Under a project she prepared with support from the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), she established the IETT Mental Health and Psychotechnics Center within the General Directorate of IETT in 2014, serving as the director of this unit for approximately 10 years.

As the founding president of the European Branch of the Istanbul Psychotherapy Association, Reyhan Nuray Duman is a member of the Turkish Psychologists Association, the EMDR Association, the Hypnosis Association, and various national and international organizations active in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. Additionally, she served as the head of the organizing committee for the National Integrative Psychotherapy Congresses held between 2017 and 2019.

Having undergone long-term training and supervision processes in the field of psychotherapy, Reyhan Nuray Duman employs Schema Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Couples and Family Therapies, Psychodrama, and experiential psychotherapy techniques within an integrative approach. She particularly conducts work on the integration of Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, and body-oriented approaches with Schema Therapy, and continues to provide trainings, seminars, and supervisions in this area.

She is a faculty member of the 4-year Integrative Psychotherapy Training program provided within the Psychotherapy Institute, continuing her educational, seminar, workshop, and supervision activities directed at specialists and institutions.

At the same time, she serves as a faculty member at Istanbul Rumeli University, conducting academic work on body-oriented therapies, psychotherapy theories, and clinical practices.
